I Would Describe Myself As I'm a professional that travels a lot for business, but has moved to Waterloo for a time. I still travel, but not every week anymore. I am re-starting a social life - crazy, in this city, since this is where I grew up. What's a social life for me? This can mean having a coffee at Starbucks and talking philosophy, taking in a show and discussing it's implications, making a fancy feast for friends, or an intimate evening. I am a bit of a Libertine, I think (at least my friends think so), which means I'm all about experiencing the fullness of life, and the crazy mess that are human beings.

I'm interested in martial arts, religion, philosophy, politics, ****ality, spirituality, food, etc. Because of my travel, I get to meet people in all sorts of places, mostly in North America, but a little bit in Europe. I tend to enjoy having friends who are a bit off the beaten path, but mostly it's about people with good hearts and sound minds.

I'm in an open long-distance relationship with several people (and one person primarily). I'm madly in love with them, but they are all over the world on two continents (and none live close to me, dammit). So I am free to make friends, play, date, consort, whatever - but I'm committed to these relationships, so am not looking for a permanent monogamous relationship - just dating, friendship, or more casual fun. I'm not a traditional person, when it comes to relationships, but I'm fiercely loyal to those to whom I've given my heart. And I'm not only about **** but I'm definitely a fan, and don't feel constrained if the moment is right. On a vaguely causally related note, I love children and definitely want to have some of my own, but the timing and circumstances haven't been right for me, what with travel and complications in my former marriage. That I don't is one of the saddest parts of my life - I have hope, though.

I love to cook - and I love to cook for others. Dinner and a movie is not just something for Ciniplex. My musical tastes trend towards the electronic for coding, the Funk for gettin' down, Enigma or Lords of Acid for gettin' dirty, and Baroque for gettin' lifted up. Mozart is too flashy for me, but Bach and Handel works wonders for my mind and soul. I also have a weakness for Sisters of Mercy and the Cure (of course). I can sing, and used to, semi-professionally. I couldn't reliably list my musical influences. I did, for a friend, and they numbered into several dozens. I have over 70Gigs of music (and that's legal music too, not that I'm against sharing), and it's bizarre how varied and diverse it is. I love dancing, but have no idea on how to judge whether I'm any good. I did learn how to move my hips from persians, however, so that's gotta win me some points.

Well, I'm sure I've provided plenty for a stalker... it's probably for the best I mentioned the Martial Arts part... :-) I'm complex, but not complicated to deal with. In general, I make few demands, and try to be generous in spirit, and among my friends I'm generous in other ways too (more than one nice bottle of scotch has gone home with a friend, because I sensed they would enjoy it more than I.) As casual as I make things sound, I really connect with people, and love to do so. It really charges my batteries, though I also need to close off and hibernate on occasion. But I try to make my "footprint" light on people's hearts and lives. And I'm honest - everyone says that, but I've gone through my "pretend things are otherwise" phase and I'm so done. You won't get head games or pretend from me. You may not like what I tell you, but it'll be true, and I never like to see people suffer. The one thing I don't abide is deliberate harm to my friends or innocents - especially kids. I'll do damage and risk life and limb to protect children.
