Mă descriu ca Edward Abbey once quipped, "What do I believe in? I believe in sun. In rock. In the dogma of the sun and the doctrine of the rock. I believe in blood, fire, woman, rivers, eagles, storm, drums, flutes, banjos..." That quote decribes me pretty well. If you were writing a biography of me it would have to include activities such as hiking, camping, canoeing, skateboarding, playing drums, politics, music, knowledge (or at least the search for), travel, and hefty doses of laughter. In the off season I am a high school social studies teacher. However, I have been cajoled into teaching Algebra and Biology as well. I have even coached varsity and jv basketball for a few years. This past summer I worked as a park ranger on the Colorado Plateau in the Four Corners area at Natural Bridges National Park. I hope to visit Alaska and places overseas soon.

I am very low maintenance. I dress in jeans, t-shirt, and hiking boots/converse all stars unless it is a special occassion. I generally have a beard. I detest smoking. Sorry.

I grew up as a skateboarder and have played in several punk bands. Thus, my views on life are somewhat different. I accept difference and I am tolerant of other lifestyles and ideas. However, I do have my ideas and opinions and expect them to be treated as equally as I treat others.

I am a teacher and have been for 7 years. I enjoy teaching and will probably continue to work in the field of education. Therefore, a rich man I will never be.

My tastes in music, movies, and such are varied. I can enjoy goofy comedies; campy love stories; intense dramas; foreign films; and riviting documentaries. As far as music goes, I enjoy music that strays from the mainstream MTV/radio garbage that surrounds us.

I do still keep up with and go skateboarding from time to time.

I enjoy animals and prefer dogs. About 1 year ago my Cocker Spaniel, Whitman, passed away. For ten years he was my best friend. I miss coming home and seeing him get excited to see me. Eventually I will get another dog, so you should be a pet lover.

If laughter is the best medicine then I should live forever. I love great conversation and stimulating discussions. However, you must be able to laugh at yourself and see the humor in everything.

Random things about me include; want to learn to ball room dance, want to learn to cook various dishes, enjoy having a garden, like being a handyman, intrested in minimizing my ecological footprint.

My ideal mate would love to travel and experience new places. She would enjoying learning new things and discussing a wide variety of topics from inane 80's trivia to the impact of multinational organizations and globalism. Of course, that includes the basics of being honest, kind, and caring.

If you are a little snooty you probably wouldn't dig me. If you're be to prissy to chase waves at the beach, strip down and dive into a cold, mountain lake, or do other generally random and goofy stuff then I am probably not someone you want to hang out with at all. You need to be intelligent, but not pretentious. You must be confident in yourself and your femininity. Likewise, you must possess a sharp mind and a sharp tongue. I respect women that can speak for themselves and are not afraid to be assertive. I also relish women that are forthright and honest.

More than likely we will not hit it off if you think going to the mall is a vacation; if you detest the outdoors and refuse to get dirty while hiking, camping, ect.; if you have no opinion and play the part of the passive woman; if you are mean, ill, or grumpy most of the time.
